Words from the Warriors
Warriors Set Roster - Welcome 18 Rookies
On January 30, 2010, the Wisconsin Warriors held their first official team meeting followed by the first practice of the year as the defending IWFL North American Champions.
An amazing 20 of 21 players will return from the 2009 roster to defend their title. More amazing is the 18 additional players added to this season's roster.
Head Coach, Norm Killion said, "We were looking for athletes with focus and desire. They just kept coming out of the woodwork and boy are we excited to have a full team to practice with and to compete with."
The Warriors open their 2010 IWFL season against the well respected Chicago Force. "We feel that our meetings with Chicago are a great challenge and also a measuring stick in our development", said Killion.
"If we can be competitive with the Chicago's and the Kansas City's of the IWFL, we feel good about our 2010 schedule"
The Warriors begin twice weekly practices for the month of February and accelerate to three weekly practices in March. "Once games start, practices go back to twice a week to put in game plans for each different
opponent."
Although the Warriors open their home season on April 17th at Kenosha's Ameche Field, they will christen their new home for the remainder of the 2010 season at brand new Indian Trail Academy stadium also
in Kenosha.
Warriors congratulate Coach Mac
The Warriors would like to say congratulations to their newly appointed Assistant Head Coach, Mark "Mac" McLaughlin. Mac uses a caring and nurturing style of coaching, as well as his constant attention to detail and the overall teaching of this great team sport to make each player feel valued and to make each player the best that she can be. Way to go Coach!
Warriors Welcome Coach Scott Flood
Iraq veteran and medic, Scott Flood, joins the Wisconsin Warriors coaching staff for 2010. Scott is a Milwaukee native currently residing in Madison while planning to relocate back to the Milwaukee area.
Scott's background includes playing running back and linebacker, as well as successfully coaching boys football at Milwaukee Bradley Tech High School. Scott just returned to the US in late January
from his last tour of duty. "We are fortunate to have Scott on board this season, as he is very detail oriented. He is all football", said team owner, Jodi vonSpreckelsen. "Our coaching staff is now set with Scott, Jay,
Brandon, Mac and Norm", said vonSpreckelsen. "The ladies know that the bar has been raised and accept the higher standards being set by this year's coaching staff."

New addition to the Warriors Medical staff!
The Warriors would like to welcome Dr Kevin Wexler to the 2010 medical staff. Dr Wexler brings exerience to the team in many aspects, including prior work with an NHL team. The Warriors look forward to bettering their muscles and joints by using Dr Wexler's techniques and training!
Wisconsin Warriors have made IWFL history!
The Wisconsin Warriors finished their IWFL season like the Cinderella story it began as. The Warriors began their 2009 season full of doubt and uncertainty. No one would have imagined that they would have made it all the way to the big show, much less have a chance at winning it. The Warriors gathered all their might and trekked on down to Round Rock Texas. With temperatures over 120 degrees on the field,
the Warriors came to battle the defending champion Montreal Blitz. The Blitz appeared to not take the Warriors seriously right out of the gate, as the Warriors score first. The Warriors continue to score and only allow 2 touchdowns to be scored on them. Final score? 42-14! THE WARRIORS WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP! The Warriors have made IWFL history as the youngest franchise to win a championship and the smallest rostered team
to win a championship. Thank you to everyone who supported us in our journey this season. Tryouts start back up in October!
Thank you!
Thank you to all of our fans, sponsors, friends and families for supporting the Warriors Championship winning season. Without you, we couldn't play the sport we all love so much!
